Lend a helping hand to the Bahamas

Multiple reports have documented the devastation and tragedies which resulted from Hurricane Dorian’s ravaging path through the Bahamas. Below we’ve made a list of ways to donate and support the relief efforts.

Rise Again Bahamas Mediathon

The Government of Barbados has collaborated with the local media to raise funds in support of relief efforts for the Bahamas. Donations can be made online or to CDEMA BAHAMAS/BARBADOS RELIEF FUND, account number 1001186684 at the First Caribbean International Bank.

The Bahamas Red Cross Society

The Bahamas Red Cross Society is a non-profit organization which offers humanitarian aid to those in need in the Bahamas. You can make a monetary donation to the GoFundMe fundraiser or you can donate material goods by purchasing one of the items listed on the organization’s Amazon Wish List. You can also donate via PayPal and SunCash. Volunteers are also needed. Applications can be submitted here.

HeadKnowles Foundation

HeadKnowles Foundation was founded by Lia Head and Gina Knowles, and has been involved with hurricane relief efforts since 2015. You can donate material goods by purchasing one of the items listed on the foundation’s Amazon Wish List or visit their website to find out more about making a monetary donation.

Bahamas Engineering and Technology Advancement (BETA) Camp

The Bahamas Engineering and Technology Advancement (BETA) is a group of young engineers who run an engineering camp during the summer months for students in grades 7-9. Some of the students who participate in this camp have been affected by Hurricane Dorian. To support the BETA Camp Student Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund, donations can be made here.

Cable & Wireless Charitable Foundation

In 2017 C&W Communications launched Cable & Wireless Charitable Foundation which raised US$1.5 million, and committed over US$1 million for relief and recovery projects in eight countries. You can donate to the relief efforts for Hurricane Dorian here.
